Our Family Trip to Florida

For the past two years we have been talking and planning on doing a family vacation to Florida. We wanted to take the kids to Disney World, see the new Harry Potter Land, and see the Space Shuttle Launch. Well we were able to hit two of the three. Stupid Universal Studios opens HPL later than expected. That is okay it will give us an excuse to go back in 10 years!

The trip fun. It was alot of walking and we were gone all day from the hotel. The kids had a blast. Ben and I really enjoyed spending time as a family and seeing the kids get so excited to see new things.

Some of my favorite moments from DW was Mikey meeting the Princesses. He loved everyone of them. It was funny to see him run up and hug them. Max on the other hand was much more stand out the way. Ben always had to encourage him to go say hi.

The kids were fearless on the rides and rode everything!!! Max was tall enough this year to ride all the big rides and he did not hesitate! With their dad they rode everything. Max loved the tower of terror and Expedition Everest. Ryley loves Space Mountain and pirates. Mikey threw a fit when we took him off the Winnie the Pooh ride. We had a great time at all the parks and enjoyed our time there.

We planned our trip to coincide with the Space Shuttle Atlantis Launch. After getting tickets to the Kennedy Space Center at 4am on morning we were ready to go. The day of launch came and it was a little stressful! It took about 3 1/2 hours to go 60 miles in our rental car. Ben and I were a little frazzled to say the least. It was all worth it when the launch happened! What an amazing thing to see. We loved it the kids loved and everything was well again. Then we thought we'd go to the beach. That only took another 2 hours to get there. Make a long story short traffic was horrendous. We later found out that around 300,000 people has descended on the area to see the launch. There will only be two more launches. The space program in America will basically be canceled soon.

One thing on our list we got to do was travel to Gatorland Zoo. It is basically the nmost redneck thing you can thing of. It was alot of fun. The kids wrestled live alligators, ate gator nuggets, and bought real alligator heads for a souvenir. Good Times.
We were glad to get home and see our Daisy. Thanks to Erica and Adam for watching our pup we really appreciated it. It was nice to get home and not have to pay for Disney food anymore also.
