Max loves his brother

Max is in kindergarten and in his class they have show and tell every week. Before Christmas Break they had the theme of bring something green or red. For the entire month max had decided he wanted to take Marcus for his show and tell. He has a red and green Christmas outfit he had to wear to fit into the criteria. Max was so proud to show off his baby brother. After we left kindergarten we had to stop by second grade so Rye could have her turn. I am grateful all my kids seem to really love each other. I need to really enjoy it before they are all 16 and moody right?

This is max and his friend Henry in their class

A good Sunday

Today Ben blessed Marcus. It was a wonderful day. It was a beautiful blessing. I could feel the love Ben has for our children and I am so grateful for that. I love having a new baby during the Christmas season. Marcus is such a sweet baby and we are all in love with him. It was a perfect day with our family and friends we are so blessed. Bad mom didn't take one picture though!

This is the view from our home tonight. I think we just might be in heaven. Can I freeze my kids and family at this spot?

You're a mom!

Mikey wanted me to take him to the bathroom today at church. I told him he had to go to the girls bathroom because I can't go in the mens bathroom. I was explaining to mikey that I was a girl. His response...
"you're not a girl you're mom!"

Marcus is a week old!

Marcus had a big day today. He had a photo shoot with the famous Emily Walton of barnwood photography. I can't wait to see the results. Ben has been giving me a hard time tonight for playing dress up with the baby. I love it though. Emily had a huge basket that we put Marcus in for pictures. Michael was out with us and we asked him what do you think of the basket? His reply, "it's stupid!" thanks kid you're a real sweetie. Anyway...
I took this pic today after Marcus had a bath his first bath in fact at home. He loved it and seems happy. I always love to think they are really smiling. Such a sweet baby.

The princess puppy

Daisy is a bit of a princess. I have nicknamed her the princess puppy for that reason. She fits with our family well and I love having a dog around again. Sometimes she is naughty but for the most part she is a good dog.
Mikey loves her more than any of the other kids but he claims she is not his dog. He always says things like mom your dog needs to eat or mom your princess puppy needs to go outside. It makes us all laugh that the dog is only my dog. Hopefully I'm not creating future therapy session for my children by loving a dumb dog.

Our Family Trip to Florida

For the past two years we have been talking and planning on doing a family vacation to Florida. We wanted to take the kids to Disney World, see the new Harry Potter Land, and see the Space Shuttle Launch. Well we were able to hit two of the three. Stupid Universal Studios opens HPL later than expected. That is okay it will give us an excuse to go back in 10 years!

The trip fun. It was alot of walking and we were gone all day from the hotel. The kids had a blast. Ben and I really enjoyed spending time as a family and seeing the kids get so excited to see new things.

Some of my favorite moments from DW was Mikey meeting the Princesses. He loved everyone of them. It was funny to see him run up and hug them. Max on the other hand was much more stand out the way. Ben always had to encourage him to go say hi.

The kids were fearless on the rides and rode everything!!! Max was tall enough this year to ride all the big rides and he did not hesitate! With their dad they rode everything. Max loved the tower of terror and Expedition Everest. Ryley loves Space Mountain and pirates. Mikey threw a fit when we took him off the Winnie the Pooh ride. We had a great time at all the parks and enjoyed our time there.

We planned our trip to coincide with the Space Shuttle Atlantis Launch. After getting tickets to the Kennedy Space Center at 4am on morning we were ready to go. The day of launch came and it was a little stressful! It took about 3 1/2 hours to go 60 miles in our rental car. Ben and I were a little frazzled to say the least. It was all worth it when the launch happened! What an amazing thing to see. We loved it the kids loved and everything was well again. Then we thought we'd go to the beach. That only took another 2 hours to get there. Make a long story short traffic was horrendous. We later found out that around 300,000 people has descended on the area to see the launch. There will only be two more launches. The space program in America will basically be canceled soon.

One thing on our list we got to do was travel to Gatorland Zoo. It is basically the nmost redneck thing you can thing of. It was alot of fun. The kids wrestled live alligators, ate gator nuggets, and bought real alligator heads for a souvenir. Good Times.
We were glad to get home and see our Daisy. Thanks to Erica and Adam for watching our pup we really appreciated it. It was nice to get home and not have to pay for Disney food anymore also.

Loving Traditions

Easter week is here and since the outside is not tempting me to go outside, I decided to make the inside tolerable.
When I was a little girl my grandma always made hot cross buns for Easter Week. She really made them for Good Friday. With the bad weather the other day I decided to make some for the fam.

It is fun to make something that brings back memories of someone you love. The smell of the spices in the bread and kneading the dough was a welcome feeling. The boys always enjoy helping so I had to find something for them to do also. They painted eggs and had so much fun. The buns were delicious and I wish I would have doubled the batch! Maybe if I get the energy I can make one more batch for Easter.

Happy Easter to all this holiday is so fun to share with family and friends. The meaning of Easter and why we celebrate Easter is all the best things about life! I feel so grateful for the Savior and his love he has for everyone.

Max's Game

Max has been playing Jr Jazz this season and he LOVES it! We can't wait for his games every week. It is fun to see how much he has improved from last year to this. Tonight Ben took him to the game and he scored 18 points! The only points that were scored on either side! He is a rebounding machine. We were so proud of him! GO MAX!

Dad what are you doing?

Ben loves to play video games and he really hasn't played for a long time. His love for the games has recently been revived and he has a few games he has been playing. Max likes to watch him play and loves to have his turn also. His favorite game is NBA of course.

I asked him why don't you play as someone but the Jazz? His response why?

So tonight Ben was having some game time and Max was watching. In this game to get healthy you can drink Bottles of wine that are scattered throughout the earth that is now covered with monkey zombies or zombies or whatever! Max immediately said, "Dad why is that guy drinking alcohol that isn't good for your body! Next time you should find some water."

Here I was worried about the violence in a game.

On a side note Ben's fantasy is a zombie outbreak where he will just have to waste them all! Weird I know.

Birthday Book Class

I am doing a Birthday Book Class on February 3rd. If you would like to come the cost is $16. I need to know by the 27th so I can order everything in time. It is a great way to keep track of your birthdays.

Birthday Girl

Ryley turned 7 today. She is such a great kid and it is hard to think she is 7. This weekend I took a couple of her friends to a movie. It was a fun party. I had the girls dress up like movie stars! They loved it and they looked so cute. I think all little girls like attention. The movie was painful but the kids liked it.

Tonight we had the family over for a birthday dinner. Ryley loves having her family around. We had princess crown cake, spaghetti and bread sticks. A great night of carbs right? She loved the princess crown necklace that Erica picked out and the crazy ZU ZU pets from grandma. What is it with those things anyway?

So glad I have such a great daughter she is so perfect in our family. Happy Birthday Rye Bug!

I Looked out the window...

I woke up this morning and looked out my window and the City was completely GONE!!! I thought the fog made a neat picture to share.
